Bulbous, wide-mouthed jar with thick walls, four single and eight double handles; applied rope decoration on the shoulder. The jar is covered with a bluish-green glaze with large iridescent areas. Features such as the rope motif, the multiple handles, the colour of the glaze and the thick walls highlight the archaic character of the jar, and allow us to date it back to the later years of the Sasanian rule and the rise of the Islamic empire. Muslims borrowed extensively from the cultural heritage of the peoples they conquered, gradually integrating local traditions within the larger framework of Islamic civilization.
