Description:

This curtain, known as sitara, burdah or burqa and embroidered with qur’anic quotations, forms the most elaborate part of the kiswah textile cover which encloses the Holy Ka‘ba in Makkah. This example was made under the patronage of King Fahd ibn Abd al-Aziz al-Saud, who ascended the throne in AH 1405 / AD 1985.
