وصف:

القطعة عبارة عن جرة خزين خزفية رمادية اللون ذات شكل جميل. زخرف بدن الجرة المضلع بخطوط هندسية مفردة ومتعددة. يبدو أن هذه الزخرفة نفذت قبل شي الجرة. ويبدو من الزخرفة هذه أن الجرة كانت من الأشياء الثمينة. للجرة عنق مثلث الشكل، ومقبضان كل منهما على شكل حلقة. وقاعدتها دائرية الشكل عُثر عليها مكسورة ولكن تم ترميمها.

صنعت الجرة من جزأين منفصلين تم وصلهما معاً بواسطة الضغط، إذ يمكن رؤية قطعة إضافية على شكل قناة بين عنق الجرة وبدنها.

جرّة تخزين صغيرة من مزرعة أم قيس، ذات نمط هندسي مرسوم قبل الشَّيْ. كانت مؤلفة من جزأين موصولين عند الحافة، بين الكتف والجسم. من شأن المبالغة في الزخرفة أن تكون قد جعلتها حاجة ثمينة.

طريقة تأريخ القطعة وطريقة تحديد أصلها:

أرّخت القطعة عن طريق الطبقة الأثرية، وعن طريق مقارنتها بقطع مشابهة عُثر عليها في مواقع أخرى.

طريقة اقتناء المتحف للقطعة:

عُثر عليها عن طريق حفرية أثرية في موقع سبيل الحوريات في أم قيس عام 2001.

Aida Naghawy is an archaeologist and the Director of Jordan Archaeological Museum. She studied archaeology at the University of Jordan where she gained her MA. She was affiliated to the Jordanian Department of Antiquities from 1974 as a curator of Jordan Archaeological Museum. In 1981 she became inspector of Jerash antiquities and co-ordinator of the Jerash International Rehabilitation project. She was also head of the archaeological awareness section at the Department of Antiquities. Aida is the author of numerous publications on Islamic coins. She has carried out excavation work in Jerash and is the founder of Jerash Archaeological Museum and the Islamic Museum of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

Ghada Al-Yousef is an archaeologist and the Director of the Friends of Archaeology Society in Jordan. She studied at the University of Jordan from where she received her BA and MA in Archaeology. In 1993 she undertook a course in the restoration and conservation of ancient mosaics held by the Italian government in Jordan. She was affiliated to the Jordanian Department of Antiquities from 1994 to 1997 as a trainee in the restoration of ancient mosaics and the production of modern mosaics at Madaba Mosaic School. In 1995 she opened her own gallery and workshop for producing mosaics. She was appointed as the Director of the Friends of Archaeology Society in 2001.
