Description:

This blue bottle has a facetted neck and a honey-comb-patterned body, accentuated by a stepped shoulder and base. The striking allover pattern was achieved by grinding out the slightly concave cavities with a specially designed cutting wheel. Vessels with this type of wheel-cut decoration mark continue pre-Islamic traditions.
