Western Influence in Ottoman Lands
Turkey
‘...Tanzimat Firman (1839) was declared bringing acceptance of Western principles and administrative organisation as it was applied to the Ottoman system.’
The process of change brought about by Westernisation can be considered in relation to the personalities of the sultans of the period, and accepted as a phenomenon parallel to their various cultural backgrounds and ways of thinking. As a result, Tanzimat Firman (1839) was declared bringing acceptance of Western principles and administrative organisation as it was applied to the Ottoman system.
