The minbar arrived in its prestigious new home at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, the resting place of several biblical prophets, including Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Due to its association with the Prophet Abraham the mosque is also sacred to Muslims, for according to the Islamic faith Abraham is the father of all the prophets in whose footsteps the Prophet Muhammad was encouraged to follow.
