A deep dish decorated in green, red, blue and white with black outlines. Two harpies opposite one another are perched on bushes filled with scales, and flanked by boughs of plum-tree flowers which form the decoration of the central field inscribed inside a medallion. On this dish the harpies have a crowned female head and the body of a winged dragon. The depiction of harpies, mythical creatures, is related to various animal fables and takes different forms. Running around the flattened edge of the piece is a frieze of hunting dogs chasing birds, a cat, hares and a pair of owls facing one another. There are two holes in the border and on the foot-ring for hanging the bowl.
