One of the most attractive groups of
Mudéjar ceramics consists of dishes and braziers, the surfaces of which were completely decorated with geometric and epigraphic patterns, egg-and-dart motifs and curved triangles repeated over and over again, creating a feeling of movement. The originality of the composition, of western origin, is found in the unity of the whole, which is arranged around an imposing central bulge. These dishes, with a boss and egg-and-dart motifs in relief, were produced by casting and were more luxury than practical items.
